Who we are:
As a mother of 3 children aged 6, 8 and 11 I always imagined how my children play together, entertain and support each other. Well.. that does rarely ever happen.
Most times my children fight and argue or simply ignore each other and days where we are out as a family and all have simple fun become more rare the older the kids get. Something that we always enjoy doing together is "making things" - may it be baking or crafting or drawing .. it opens up a room for conversations, learning and curiosity.
Especially my oldest son, who is a fan of big entrepreneurs like Jeffrey Bezos and Elon Musk often times dreams of having his own business empire and while it's only getting harder to get him off his electronic devices -> one thing he keeps being motivated by is the chance of earning money.
The Inspiration:
Then on one sunny afternoon, I was driving through our estate and saw another little craft stall that was popping up, where some girls where selling their own made "blind bags" later that day they also started engaging in door to door sales, which I hugely admired and despite the badly designed and presented product, I did of course support the cause and bought a blind bag.
So a few days later we decided to learn from the competitions mistakes and make our own playdough and present it in lovely little boxes for resale. All of my children teamed up together and added their own individual touches and success plans. We know our estate quiet well and so I allowed my children to knock on doors of neighbours and friends they knew and come up with their little sales pitch.
The Process:
My daughter heard her first 2 "no's" and quickly gave up extremely disappointed. My 6 year old son kept on going and very fastly sold his 10 items making 10 euro in a short amount of time - he then offered to sell his sisters items too.
My oldest took a short-cut and sold his entire batch of products to his best friend and his siblings. We went out later that day for some well-earned ice cream and everyone discussed their ideas for our next venture.. and with the satisfaction I felt as a mother from all this learning and collaboration between my children ... an idea way born.
The Idea:
Why not make this easily available and accessible to others ? As a working mother I know that it's not always easy to come up with the time and idea and one selling factor is also the independence that comes with something like "Cash Kids Kits" that enables children to simply run with a project themselves.
As the first Kit will be launching on the 28th of June - I mainly value your feedback, catch your brainstormings and get your own experience with similar projects that ran in your families before.
